Recovering From a Breakup is No Joke

by No Joke

The process of recovering from a breakup spurs chaotically tortured emotions like no other. We could do things like go for a run, have lunch with a friend, or see a movie but the storm will still vengefully follow us. Recovering from a breakup is therefore no joke.

Surely, there may be moments or flashes of enlightened relief. We might even finally come to the realization that we're on the right path, despite long held suspicions. But boy oh boy, when we feel the sadness, we really feel it.

We are left with no choice but to go through it. Yet even if we get better at doing just that, it’s still a very uncomfortable feeling—until the day that it finally isn't.

Active & Proactive Recovery Are Key

Kudos to everyone out there in proactive recovery, whether your breakup happened a year ago or yesterday or even an hour ago. By being on this site, by talking to a professional and by getting out of bed everyday, we are showing our resolve. I'm on that road to recovery too and finding myself stronger than I thought. I now believe in achieving what I want by continuing on this path and facing the storm.

I may be super sad today, but who knows how it will go tomorrow. I'm prepared to feel what is to come.
